Description:
Enjoy a full day focused on watercolor painting at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. FAEA members will delight in a focused tour of watercolor paintings on view at the Museum. Attendees will sketch in the galleries to capture possible ideas for painting. After the lunch break, dive into watercolor workshops! Try your hand at Watercolor Exploratory Abstract using watercolor pencils and paints with Timothy Leistner. Dr. Leistner directs participants to utilize their senses in this playful and skill-building session. Gerald Obregon focuses on watercolor coupled with other media. Educators will participate in both workshops.
Schedule:
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Museum watercolor painting tour & gallery sketching
12:00 - 1:00 PM Lunch on your own (bring your own or dine in Mizner Park)
1:00 - 4:00 PM Watercolor painting workshop
Parking:
- Metered street parking is available in Mizner Park.
- Free parking is available in each of the four parking garages. The closest garage is A, located on the northwest corner of Mizner Park, just south of the Museum.
- Handicapped parking is available at no charge with valid handicapped placards in specially designated spaces located along the plaza and parking garages within Mizner Park.
Facilitator Bios
Timothy Leistner, EdD is an artist, author, and educator. He instructed his Watercolor Exploration course for the City of Fort Lauderdale over 18 years, was named Best Visual Artist, Broward and Palm Beach counties by New Times Broward-Palm Beach, and was awarded Broward County’s Teaching Artist of the Year Award in 2011.
Gerald Obregon, MS teaches at AP Mays Conservatory of the Arts, a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School. In addition to teaching a variety of drawing and painting techniques, he is also a practicing artist who participates in many exhibitions.
