2024-2025 Board of Directors Call for Nominations

The Florida Art Education Association is now accepting nominations for the 2024-2025 Board of Directors. Dedicated members with exceptional leadership skills are encouraged to apply. See a description of each position below. 

Members who serve on the board of directors have a wonderful opportunity to help make important decisions and shape the future of FAEA. The term begins in January 2024 and ends in December 2025.

If you or a colleague would like to nominate a leader for the Board of Directors for 2024 & 2025, please complete the nomination form below and submit it by June 1, 2023. Self-nominations are welcome.

Local Art Education Assembly Representative

The Local Art Education Assembly Representative shall study and recommend to the board of Directors, legislative and policy matters of the Association, shall attend to matters relating to the strengthening of the Florida Art Education Association, shall review proposals for changes to the bylaws and the constitution, shall serve as the liaison between the Board of Directors and local art education organizations, and shall recommend changes in policies and procedures. The Local Art Education Assembly Representative shall have one voting member sitting on the Board of Directors.

Division Representatives

It shall be the duty of the Division Directors: to serve on the Board of Directors; to promote membership in the FAEA; to disseminate important information to members in their division; to report the activities of the division to the membership in each publication of the FAEA Fresh Paint; to develop the program for their division level including conferences and other professional activities.

Members at Large

It shall be the duty of the Member at Large to serve on the Board of Directors, to promote membership in the FAEA, to serve as an officer for a term of two years, to review and act on reports and recommendations presented by the Board of Directors and committees, to attend regular meetings of the Board of Directors, participate as a member of the Board, understand and promote the mission, vision, and values of FAEA, make a positive contribution to the association, and keep a file of information for future reference. The member at large is not a voting member of the FAEA Board.

Past President

it shall be the duty of the Past President to assume the duties of the President-Elect in the event of vacancy in that office; to review, compile and transmit Association records to FAEA Archives and or State Archives; and assume other duties as determined by the President.

President-Elect

The President-Elect shall perform all the duties of the office of the President in his/her absence, shall carry out other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Board. The President-Elect shall serve a term of two years or until their successor is elected. The President-Elect shall then automatically assume the office of President for a term of two years or until their successor is elected.

Secretary

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to take the minutes of all meetings to be distributed to the board of directors and membership. The secretary shall report on motions passed during board meetings in the following publication of Fresh Paint. The secretary shall keep a copy of the constitution and Bylaws of FAEA and record amendments made to these documents. The Secretary will direct the correspondence of FAEA to Tallahassee office as needed and conduct correspondence for FAEA as needed.
