About Presenting for the FAEA Conference
Thank you for presenting at the FAEA Conference! Please read below for important information about presenting your session or workshop.
All presenters must be registered for the conference except for keynote speakers and exhibitors. The lower pre-registration price is available through September 24, but you may register online at any time through the end of the conference.
This is an in-person conference, there are no virtual or hybrid options. If you are not able to travel to St. Petersburg, Florida, on October 17-20, 2024 for the conference, please contact us immediately at info@faea.org to cancel your session.
Demonstration: 30-minute session demonstrating a topic through exploration and investigation of an art technique that will inform and inspire. This is not a hands-on activity.
Art Forum or Product Showcase Session: 50-minute lecture-style presentation, seating will be theatre-style with no tables available for hands-on activities.
Workshop or Product Showcase Workshop: 90-minute hands-on workshop. Attendees will pay an additional $20 registration fee for each workshop, and capacity will be limited to 25. Tables will be provided in each workshop room, with seating for 2 per table.
Please plan to start and end on-time as a courtesy to the presenter of the next session scheduled in your room. In most cases, Demonstrations and Art Forum sessions only have a 10-minute turnaround time between sessions, and workshops have 30 minutes.
You will be sent a link to upload digital copies of your handouts just before the conference to allow attendees to download them from the mobile app or online schedule. You may also provide printed copies, however, FAEA does not provide copies or reimburse for the cost of printing/copying handouts.
All presentations, handouts, lesson plans, images, etc. must be original or have written copyright permission to use them. See Copyright.com for more information.
File limitations: all handouts uploaded must be PDF files, and they must be smaller than 10MB in size.
There will be a Projector and Screen in every session room. Presenters will no longer need to bring their own projectors. We recommend that you bring your own adapter if your computer does not have an HDMI connector.
You must bring any other equipment you will need, such as laptop computers, document cameras, speakers, HDMI adapters, etc.
Meeting rooms are not equipped with sinks. There are restrooms with sinks near the workshop rooms, but paint or anything that may stain a regular sink should be disposed of in the stainless steel sinks in the back service hallways.
Internet access in Hotel Conference Rooms is extremely expensive, and therefore FAEA is unable to provide internet access to presenters. Cellular service is good in that area, so you may be able to use your mobile phone as a WiFi hotspot for your presentation, but just in case, you may want to plan your presentation so that it is presentable without the internet:
If the nature of your presentation requires that all participants will need internet access, keep in mind that they will probably be using the cellular data on their phones as their only option.
For each "hands-on" 90-minute Workshop session, please plan to provide supplies for up to 25 participants.
Reimbursement of up to $100.00 for each hands-on workshop session you present will be available for supplies you purchase for participants to use and take with them. To request reimbursement, please submit your receipts along with the completed and signed reimbursement request form.
Only one (1) form should be submitted. If you are presenting multiple workshops, list them all on that one form.
This info is for the 2023 conference so it may be outdated. Updates will occur soon....
We highly encourage you to share information about your session on all your social media platforms and invite everyone to attend the conference to see you present. Here is a photo and sample text you can use:
