J. Marshall Adams is the Director of Education at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Enjoying his fourteenth year in the museum education field, Marshall was previously the Director of Education and Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, Head of School Programs at the High Museum of Art, and Curator of Education at both the Mississippi Museum of Art and the Walter Anderson Museum of Art. He received his B.A. in Studio Art from Tulane University, New Orleans, his M.S.Ed. in Museum Education from the Leadership in Museum Education program at Bank Street College, New York,  and was a participant in the Getty Leadership Institute’s first Museum Leaders: The Next Generation program. In 2007 Marshall was recognized as the NAEA Southeastern Region Museum Art Educator of the Year, and recently was the only art museum educator on the Visual Arts Writing Team for the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. He is currently serving a four-year appointment to the NAEA Professional Materials Committee, which reviews publication proposals contributing emerging scholarship to the field of art education.
