Grade 6-12 Digital Photography and Graphic Design Teacher Job Description

NSU University School is seeking a full-time Digital Photography teacher to teach both introductory and advanced level courses for students in grades 6-12 in digital photography, including skills in digital editing, graphic design, and photojournalism. The teacher will lead student teams in producing content for digital platforms, competitions, and art exhibitions. While teaching certification is preferred, it is not required, and qualified candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn about education and the ability to help students access the training necessary for growth and achievement.

This person will also run the publication branch of our extracurricular program, USchool Network (USN).

In USN, students produce a quarterly digital newsmagazine, photograph live events, and create marketing materials. Quality works are featured on our media outlets and submitted to competitions and festivals worldwide. We participate in local and national student competitions and festivals, like FSPA, Scholastic Art and Writing, and Congressional Art Awards. We hope to one day rival the top programs in the country! Our ideal candidate is someone who will lead the program long term into its next stage of development and help us create an award-winning program.

Qualified candidates will be able to teach both introductory and advanced level courses in digital photography and graphic design, including skills in the Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
